SCHWALBE has welcomed Richard Barling as Sales Promoter for the Midlands and Wales. Working alongside existing Sales
Promoters Ben, Grant, and Ed, Derbyshire-based Richard will support retailers across his area, offering expert technical advice, marketing support, and in-depth training on the full range of Schwalbe products. Richard brings a unique background to the role. After many years touring the globe as a live sound engineer, he made a career switch in 2020 to pursue his passion for cycling. He began as a bike mechanic before moving into premium e-Bike sales with Fully Charged, where he became Sales Manager of their flagship store. He’s a self-confessed family cargo e-Bike geek who harbours a fondness for classic ’90s mountain bikes.

Patrick ‘Paddy’ Blake, UK Market Manager, Boyd Cycling
US wheel brand, Boyd Cycling has announced the appointment of Patrick “Paddy” Blake as UK Market Manager. Founded in 2009, Boyd is
“synonymous with performance- driven wheels.” The company recently expanded its in-house alloy rim manufacturing capabilities and, following the 2024 acquisition of Munich Composites, will soon introduce in-house carbon rim production. The brand says this strategic move
strengthens its commitment to riders and retailers across the United Kingdom and Europe. With nearly two decades of experience in the cycling industry, Paddy brings expertise in product management, brand leadership, and market development, along with a keen eye for a good cuppa. Paddy’s official title will be “Minister of Wheel Affairs”. Boyd Cycling will now accelerate its growth in the UK market.

Bronwyn Benstead, Market Data Service Team, The Bicycle Association
THE BICYCLE ASSOCIATION has announced the appointment of Bronwyn Benstead, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in retail, manufacturing, and supply chain planning. Bronwyn most recently held the position of Forecasting & Analytics Manager at Equip Outdoor Technologies, leading a team responsible for B2B and D2C sales forecasting and demand planning for over 6,000 SKUs across two global brands: Rab and Lowe Alpine. Bronwyn’s primary focus over the next 12 to 18 months will be engaging the UK cycling industry on the BA’s Market Data Service. She will be working closely with all user audiences, including bike shops, brands, and distributors. Key priorities include continuous improvement in data quality and aligning the technology development roadmap with user needs.
