2025, a year characterised by ongoing disruption, which, arguably, has become the new normal. T


he discomfort of change is all around us, in the wider world as well as within our industry. To qualify that statement, nothing serves the purpose quite like the Prime Minister of Singapore openly stating, during on-record conversations with international


media, that we now live in a world that is “post-American order”, making this a period of “great transition”. In our cycling industry world, the landscape remains


extremely challenging on a number of fronts. Many have asked when ‘normal service will resume’ with a

degree of nostalgic looking back. The challenge is, when are we looking back to? When was the last cycling industry ‘good time’? 2012?


How long did that wave last? Was that the road bike version of the BMX bubble, or peak mountain bike? You notice these are all ‘enthusiast’ driven categories, right?
