big interview

Like any business leader my role is very varied – from working with the CBA Chairman and board of directors, to managing the internal team and supporting their particular responsibilities, to liaising with other trade associations and sharing best practice and working together on common concerns. I spend time each week talking to and visiting members and as and when necessary, dealing with government advisors and stakeholders, as well as keeping up to date on issues that matter to our industry with our team of experts.

I also oversee a wide variety of other projects and activity

– from PR and marketing including the new CBA Business Directory to the forthcoming Business Day in June. No day is the same, no day is boring but each day is fulfilling and rewarding – not least because of the people we work for – our members.

What’s the best piece of advice you have received and from whom? A former colleague from many years ago said to me that the best piece of advice he was given and one he always passes on, is to always work with the best and that’s what I do! I am very grateful for the fantastic support I receive from the CBA board, my colleagues at our offices in Ware, our experts (many of whom have worked with us for years) and of course our members and industry supporters. It’s thanks to all of them that the CBA can deliver what it does for our industry and will continue to do, to ensure its future.

What do you see for the future of the CBA? I am really positive for the future of the craft and artisan

bakery industry and believe that the CBA can and will continue to deliver the very best it can to ensure that our collective future is bright! We will continue to ensure that the CBA offers its members and the wider industry what it needs to succeed – from the right packages for members and supporters, the best training and advice and of course the best events, like our Business Day in June.

I look forward to seeing you all there!
