The multi-million-pound acquisition of Thorntons in 2015 is part of its continued investment in the competitive UK market, which will see the company continue to target further growth in the UK through the strength of its existing brands, while expanding into new categories and occasions. Ferrero is committed to building a strong and sustainable company that will continue to surprise and delight consumers with high quality confectionery products and experiences.
Announced in late 2019, the Ferrero group will be investing £2.7 million, in media campaigns across sprint 2020 for its UK market, which includes the development of 10 new seasonal lines to complement its core range. Thorntons will also be adding two new products to its range. Sitting alongside its bunny Easter egg designs, the new Dinosaur and Unicorn eggs (151g) will feature fun and eye-catching designs with a high level of characterisation to bring the popular creatures to life.
