Other unnoticed jobs, carried out by the silent majority, included cleaning hair out of the shower plug, putting away the clean laundry, vacuuming and wiping down the hob. The research was carried out by AMDEA to restore national attention to how modern appliances and small behaviour changes can make a big difference to household bills. Listing the jobs around the house which go unnoticed, 31 per cent admitted they rarely or never witness them magically getting done by someone else. 77 per cent said there is one person in their home who takes on the majority of these chores. Beyond the top 10, clearing out old food and cleaning the fridge shelves (19 per cent), defrosting the freezer (15 per cent), and emptying the dishwasher (14 per cent) also featured as tasks which go unnoticed, according to the

thankless tasks, that quietly keep UK families in comfort and homes running smoothly. Leading a national campaign, a poll of 2,000 adults revealed the most thankless household tasks included
rises to 94 per cent when you ask the people most responsible for getting them done. When completing these household chores, 68 per

Sirius Buying Group’s much-anticipated Annual Trade Show is now concluded for another year. The event took place on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. Winners at the 2025 Sirius Awards presented during the dinner included Joe Graham, winner of Large Retailer of the Year (Highly Commended: Reliant TV), Smiths TV taking home the win for Medium Retailer of the Year (Highly Commended: DAS Ltd), Compton’s Kitchens, which won Kitchen Retailer of the Year (Highly Commended: Orion Interiors), BSH scooped the award for Large Supplier of the Year (Highly Commended: Hotpoint), with Statesman winning Medium Supplier of the Year (Highly Commended: Midea), and ESG winning SDA Supplier of the Year (Highly Commended: RKW). Jordan Scott was awarded Representative of the Year, and three brands were recognised for their creative exhibition space with AEG winning Large Best Stand, GDHA winning Medium Best Stand, and Eurosonic Group named the winner of SDA Best Stand in 2025. The Sirius Trade Show 2025 helped to raise even more funds for this year’s nominated
charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, with the running total having now hit the huge sum of £13,000 thanks to the amazing donations from supporting Approved Suppliers and Members on the night.
