Miele ushers in a new era of cooking at IFA 2025
Miele says the future of cooking is connected, flexible and outdoor-ready. ERT discovers how its latest IFA launches bring innovation to every corner of the kitchen.
M
iele returned to IFA this year with a commanding presence and a clear message: the future of cooking is smarter, more flexible, and now extends beyond the
walls of the home. Under the banner “Miele now also Outdoors”, the German premium manufacturer unveiled a trio of world-first innovations, the Dreams outdoor kitchen, the intelligent M Sensecooking system, and the first-ever steam drawer. Together, they mark a decisive step in Miele’s evolution towards connected, sustainable, and design-led living. For the first time in its 125-year history, Miele is taking its renowned craftsmanship and cooking performance outdoors. The modular Dreams outdoor kitchen system brings premium design, intelligent features, and Miele’s hallmark quality to alfresco entertaining. Available in a range of configurations, Dreams can be tailored with gas barbecues, hobs, sinks, refrigeration units, and more than 60 coordinated accessories. The highlight is the Fire Pro IQ gas barbecue, an intelligent, self-regulating grill that automatically controls temperature for perfect results without the need for constant supervision. It even cleans itself using AutoClean mode. “More and more people around the world
are discovering the outdoor living lifestyle,” said Dr Axel Kniehl, Miele’s Executive Director Marketing & Sales. “With Dreams, we’re bringing
the special Miele cooking experience outdoors for the first time, combining minimalist design, advanced technology, and premium quality to create perfect moments with family and friends.”
Nothing burns Inside the home, Miele’s new M Sense system, comprising the KM 8000 induction hob series and smart M Sense cookware, represents a breakthrough in intuitive cooking. Developed in collaboration with Swiss premium manufacturer Kuhn Rikon, M Sense introduces the world’s first pots and pans with built-in temperature sensors and integrated touch controls. Each piece of cookware communicates wirelessly with the hob, continuously measuring temperature and adjusting power automatically for precise, efficient results. Up to four pans can be managed at once, eliminating the risk of boil- overs, burnt food or wasted energy. “M Sense is our promise for more joy in cooking,” said Dr Markus Miele, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor. “Nothing burns. Nothing boils over, just more time for what really matters. With intelligent sensors and intuitive operation, we make cooking easier, safer and smarter.” The KM 8000 hobs feature a sleek, frameless glass design in widths of 60, 80 and 90 cm. Top models include a subtle light strip for elegant illumination, and all versions support both M Sense and conventional cookware. Through the
Steaming ahead Completing Miele’s IFA showcase was the world premiere of the steam drawer, the first of its kind and a space-saving solution for compact kitchens. With a height of just 14 centimetres, it fits neatly beneath a 45 cm oven with microwave to create a versatile three-in-one cooking station for baking, reheating and steaming. The drawer uses Miele’s proven DualSteam technology for rapid heat-up and even cooking. Over 100 automatic programmes cover everything from vegetables and fish to sous-vide dishes, while automatic menu cooking synchronises multiple foods so they’re ready together. “With its low profile and generous capacity, the steam drawer is a real asset for compact kitchens,” said Dr Uwe Brunkhorst, Senior Vice President, Business Unit Cooking. “It takes up little space but delivers big on performance and precision.” The appliance’s Push2open mechanism, telescopic runners and clear-text display ensure easy operation, while the Miele app allows recipes and settings to be managed remotely. The steam drawer will launch across Europe at the end of 2026.
Beyond these flagship products, Miele’s IFA stand showcased how artificial intelligence and connectivity are reshaping the home. The latest MasterCool refrigeration range integrates FoodView cameras for real-time visibility of contents via the Miele app, reducing waste and simplifying shopping. Smart Food ID in Miele ovens uses AI to recognise dishes and automatically adjust settings, while the Triflex HX3 Plus Aqua vacuum combines dry and wet cleaning for maximum versatility. “In an increasingly complex world, our customers are looking for reliable innovations that simplify everyday life and create special moments,” said Dr Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor. “That’s exactly what we deliver with our new products at IFA 2025. They embody Miele’s values, quality, design, innovation and sustainability, and together they mark the beginning of a new era in cooking.”
