ERT AWARDS 2019
P Sales Excellence Award
Winner Paige Cox
aige Cox joined the team at Empire Kitchens and Appliances in September 2017. Having received direct training from many manufacturers, her sales ability soon shone through and she quickly built up a long list of happy customers.
In October last year, just before a new kitchen department was due to open at the store, the kitchen designer who had been hired was not able to complete the job. Ms Cox went to the Symphony Group training courses to take on the design job on top of her existing sales, accounts and HR roles. She quickly proved that she was
capable of taking on this role, but that she also had a natural flair for design and worked seamlessly between customers, suppliers and fitters on a variety of tasks. One particular customer review on the Empire Kitchens and Appliances website read: “I recently purchased a kitchen and was helped every step of the way by Paige. She is very efficient and nothing was too much trouble for her.”
Commenting on her win, Ms Cox said: “I was absolutely stunned to have won the Sales Excellence Award this year!
“I am passionate about our industry and I truly love what I do. To have been nominated and named as a finalist in this category was a huge personal achievement to start with, but I couldn’t have been prouder when my name was called out as the winner on the day. “Being a family-run business,
we treat all of our customers as we would expect to be treated and I think that is the key to good customer service. It’s important that I take the time to talk to my customers and find out their individual needs so I can advise them on products that are suitable for them. “The ERT Awards is fantastic to
recognise all the hard work that manufacturers and retailers put in throughout the year – it’s a great motivation to strive to achieve more. The event itself is great fun and a tremendous way to meet new people and bring retailers and manufacturers together. “For any retailer considering entering next year’s ERT Awards, my advice would be – do it! The entry process is so easy, it doesn’t take long and it’s honestly such a fantastic way to showcase the achievements of your business and the hard work of the team behind it.” ■
