buy complete environments, not individual products. By introducing fitted kitchens and furniture, they can show integrated refrigeration as it is intended to be seen: aligned perfectly with cabinetry, operating quietly in an open-plan setting and forming part of a broader, cohesive scheme. It is far easier to demonstrate the appeal of an XL integrated fridge-freezer or present the modularity of under-counter fridges, freezers and wine fridges together when they sit within a real layout rather than as standalone products.”

On the trend of electrical retailers adding fitted kitchens in-store, Ms Blanchfield observes: “Retailers are responding to a shift in how consumers shop for kitchens, with many wanting to visualise appliances in a real-world setting rather than as standalone products. By incorporating fitted kitchens and furniture into stores, retailers can better demonstrate how built-in appliances work as part of a complete solution.”
Integrated innovation Tim Hutchinson, Divisional Manager at Liebherr UK, outlines the brand’s latest built-in refrigeration innovations, emphasising design cohesion, performance, and long-term reliability. “At Liebherr, our latest built-in products are engineered to meet the evolving demands of modern kitchens, with a clear focus on seamless integration, advanced freshness technology and long-term efficiency,” says Mr Hutchinson. “In 2025, we introduced a significantly expanded fully integrated under-counter range and our new fully integrated XL models, ICNd 5603 and ICNSd 5603. The XL appliances reach 194cm and deliver up to 30 litres more cooling volume than standard sizes. For retailers, that creates a compelling proposition for customers who want greater capacity in the same footprint, combined with class-leading energy performance, proven freshness technologies and intuitive smart connectivity – all underpinned by a 10-year guarantee that reinforces our commitment to longevity and sustainability.”
At the premium end, he adds: “Our recently launched Peak Side-by-Side models, XRCst 5295 and XRCbs 5295, combine the very latest in our freshness innovation, BioFresh Professional and HydroBreeze, keeping food fresh for up to five times longer than a standard refrigeration appliance. Each model also incorporates a dedicated wine tempering compartment. Positioned alongside our established core integrated ranges, they enable retailers to offer everything from the Pure series through to statement, design-led flagship products – all supported by German engineering, long-term reliability and a clear upgrade path for their customers.” Performance is equally important, he adds: “Consumers expect appliances to protect their food, minimise waste and help manage running costs. Technologies such as BioFresh and EasyFresh directly address freshness and food waste, DuoCooling prevents odour and humidity transfer between compartments, and NoFrost removes the need for manual defrosting. Quiet operation and SmartDevice connectivity add everyday convenience, while strong energy ratings and extended guarantees reinforce long-term value. For many households, built-in refrigeration has become the most effective way to combine design ambition with practical, sustainable living.” On the trend of retailers incorporating fitted kitchens in-store, Mr Hutchinson notes: “Retailers recognise that customers now
