AFTERNOON TEA

stablished in 2005 by mother-daughter co-founders Yvonne and Rebecca Drury, the first collection from MissPrint included a series of patterns printed onto silk at the family dining room table and has
since grown to become a leading British design studio. “We founded MissPrint after being inspired by a screen-printing project
at university. We started out printing lampshades and cushions on the kitchen table and have grown organically over the years. Wallpaper felt like a natural progression as a growing interior brand and it is now our core product. We love that our papers are manufactured in Britain allowing us to easily visit the factories and be part of the printing process. We were super excited to see our iconic patterns reimagined and brought to life in our first ever tableware collection. We are both textile designers and just love pattern! We now have a few more family members working alongside us, so we really are a family business,” says Rebecca Drury. Spanning everything from tabletop products to kitchen textiles, MissPrint
is fast becoming a recognisable name on the high street for its distinctive use of patterns and colour. The business has expanded its presence in the nation’s biggest stores, including John Lewis and Next, with new product lines which have been created as part of its established brand licensing programme with The Point.1888. From MissPrint’s licensee partner, Pure Table Top, comes a unique and beautiful mid-century collection of ceramics, kitchen textiles, placemats, and coasters. Illustrated by hand, the debut tabletop collection captures
MissPrint’s signature style and identity to breathe new life into the home. The collection, which is intended to fill the gap in the market for fresh spring products, launched at John Lewis in February and is also available on both MissPrint’s and Pure Table Top’s websites, as well as selected independent stores and garden centres across the UK. “All our designs are hand drawn. I actually feel more free drawing by hand than on a computer. I like that I can draw to scale and put the design on the wall as its evolving to see how the scale is working, it gives a good idea of how the finished design will look. I also love that I can look back through old sketchbooks and drawings and surround myself with them, it is more inspiring to me than a computer screen, and it is more organic and tactile. We love colour here at MissPrint and think it should be embraced. It can change the feeling of a room and even influence and lift your mood,” Drury adds. Already hugely popular among homeowners and interior design enthusiasts, MissPrint is looking ahead to the growth of the business. Drury says “We spend a lot of time experimenting with our prints across lots of different home decor items. We have some big plans ahead for new ranges launching next year and some very exciting opportunities to branch out even further in the home and garden! We would love for MissPrint to continue to grow and develop new designs and products; it’s a never- ending brief. Our patterns aim to make people feel better day-to-day by inspiring them with colour and illustration.”
