Wendy Reece, fra nchise owner for 12 years with X-Press Legal Services has a nothing-can-stop-me approach to her business. Here she shares her typical day.
“I really enjoy getting out and about travelling to
the various local councils to obtain data and visit clients, but with Covid-19 that has been restricted. “Once I have made my calls, requested the
information for each property, we then check and collate the data and provide the completed searches to our solicitor clients. Attention to detail is a must in this job. “As this is my business, I also need to do
marketing, so I set aside half an hour each day for my social media and other promotional activity. Our head offi ce is incredibly supportive and provides the network with many tools and products which help us to grow and develop our business. “We always stop for lunch, there is a pool table

efore becoming the Fylde Coast, Lancaster and South Lakeland franchisee for X-Press Legal Services, Wendy Reece was employed in the accounts department at X-Press. She
could see the huge potential and the opportunity, so with her husband Scott, they made the move from employee to business owners. Wendy says: “I start my day with a coffee – very
important! At X-Press we use a content management system (CMS) which is brilliant – once logged in I have access to everything I need. Emails are the fi rst thing I check and so I prioritise anything urgent, reply to queries and then log in all the new orders. “We work closely with conveyancing professionals
and solicitors. What, you may ask, is a property search? It's an essential part of the conveyancing process, giving our industry the security of regular, repeat business which is recession proof. “Most of my work involves providing key
information such as fl ood risks, planning issues and mining reports relating to property sales, developments, remortgages and repossessions, for both residential and commercial clients.

"Flexibility is so important to me and this franchise
gives me that. I can pick up my grandchildren from school and have time with them during the day. As we are web based, I can also work from any device when it suits. I have been known to work on a balcony on holiday, in airports, late at night, you name it – nothing can stop me and that’s fantastic. “Each day I will speak to one or more of my
fellow franchisees for advice, support or a chat. We have recently welcomed two new franchisees to the network, which has been great, they have just become part of the team which shows how close we all are.”
