Don't wait, dive in! I

note – with a sense of irony – that this issue contains not only a feature that champions women smashing the

glass ceiling but also one on... cleaning. I stress, however, that all the case studies in the latter feature are men. Franchising is most certainly an equal opportunities industry and there’s absolutely something for everyone when it comes to running a business, so don't to deliberate or hesitate – find out today just what’s out there. The best way to begin your research into what kind of business will suit you is to visit one of The Franchise Exhibitions. Here, you can spend some time visiting different brands, talking to franchisors and, of course, reading the excellent accompanying show guide contained within the next issue of

Business Franchise. The next dates to hear informative talks, see experts share their insights, listen to real-life case studies and franchise panels, as well as meet franchisors and franchisees for a one-to-one, are 21 and 22 June at EventCity, Manchester. A guide to this forthcoming event starts on page 65. Perhaps you’ll find low-cost opportunities appealing, maybe you'll benefit from visiting the van-based showcase, or you may want to make a pit stop first at the careers clinic or to speak to funding advisers. If you’re in need of a little advice in the meantime, turn to our Q&A on page 27 where franchisors and consultants share insider knowledge, or check out the articles on topics such as franchise agreements (p. 24), and why it’s important, even at this

stage, to consider what you’ll do at the end of a franchise (p. 64). Of course, there’s no end if you don’t start – so do it, dive in!

If you were sent this copy of Business Franchise after a visit to one of this spring's Franchise Exhibitions, you may soon receive an email inviting you to respond to a survey. We'd love your feedback on this May edition and to know what you'd like to read more of when it comes to business and franchising. Alternatively, drop me a line at:
