FRANCHISEFOCUS INVESTMENT: FROM FROM £90,000* A glowing opportunity
spa810, a unique new management franchise, is now launching in the UK
D
rawing from more than 15 years’ experience leading franchise brands, with over 500 franchisees
combined, Duncan Berry is well prepared to ensure spa810’s franchisees’ onboarding and ongoing support requirements are met. Having identified spa810 as being the perfect match for his skills, Duncan and his wife, Tania, acquired the master franchise rights to the brand for the UK and Ireland. spa810 (pronounced “spa-eight-ten”)
offers a selection of carefully curated spa and non-invasive medical treatments. The brand offers body sculpting, advanced facials, laser-hair removal and a variety of massages, all given by a highly trained and qualified team of aesthetic therapists. The spa810 brand provides a much- needed service, filling a gap in the market between five-star spa hotels with high-end pricing and the independent, fragmented and inconsistent offerings provided at a local level.
spa810 provides female and male
customers with best-in-class treatments and an elevated experience in a convenient retail location. Massages, facials and skincare treatments are offered using market-leading, FDA-approved technology administered by professionals. Included in spa810’s suite of medical technology are state-of-the-art lasers for hair removal and non-surgical fat-reduction equipment. Duncan is also discerning about the qualities he believes are necessary in prospective franchisees. He explains: “The ability to provide leadership, set the right tone and culture in the business, be solution-orientated and understand the interdependent partnership that exists between franchisee and master franchisee all help contribute to a successful and profitable outcome for a franchisee.” Experience of managing teams or individuals and exposure to business are ideal prerequisites for spa810 franchisees, although, given it’s a management franchise, the necessary

support will be provided. After all, he and Tania had no experience of the business sector they launched in, but that hasn’t stopped them making a success of the pilot spa in Harrogate. spa810 is unique – there is no other management franchise available in the UK in the ‘medi-spa’ market
Strong margin business – a weighted average gross profit across the brand’s core ‘pillar’ treatments of 80 per cent and over
Turnkey operation – full support with site selection, lease negotiations, spa fit-out and equipment leasing
£60,000 franchise fee – this includes site selection, training, management of spa fit-out, initial equipment, and professional and retail stock
No market experience required, full training provided
Recurring revenues available from individual guests through cross- selling treatments
Membership model available.
Duncan Berry has twice been elected to the British Franchise Association (bfa) board
of directors. His professional experience includes managing numerous high-quality franchise businesses, including Cartridge World, Choice Hotels Europe and, most recently, Bluebird Care, the bfa’s 2017 Franchisor of the Year. Duncan and Tania will use their significant experience and deep understanding of franchising to further build upon spa810’s success. Duncan comments: “We’re thrilled to be launching spa810 in the UK. We believe the brand meets a significant demand in the market. The fundamentals of the sectors I’ve previously been involved with of merchandising, driving occupancy, revenue per room, along with recruitment and retention are all highly relevant and can be applied to this sector.” l
