John McHale found a new outlook on life and his career with ActionCOACH

n 2014, John McHale re-evaluated his priorities and made the decision that would change his outlook on life altogether. John’s experience in
operations management left him wanting more, but he had the desire to look for something that he could piggyback on to his existing skills. After searching through various options that
would allow him to spend more time with his wife, Catherine, and four children, John stumbled upon ActionCOACH and began looking into its systems. He immediately realised he could use a system that’s been developed for over 20 years for his own business. John spoke to other Action Coaches and was hooked; he launched his ActionCOACH franchise in October 2014. “My fi rst two years were challenging, but that’s the same for every new business owner. I spent that time getting to grips with it all and, with the help of ActionCOACH and their world-class systems, I was able to establish my position in the marketplace. I don’t know of any other franchise that offers such exceptional and thorough ongoing support.” Now, almost fi ve years later, John’s business is thriving and he can spend more time at home. “All our children are at crucial parts of their lives
right now, so it’s important that Catherine and I are able to offer support – my business means I don’t have to leave it all up to my wife.” John now has plans to grow his business substantially. Having 20 clients and an aim to double that number in the next 18 months, he has recruited a PA to help in the offi ce. His next steps include taking on a business development manager and creating a healthy basis for his retirement.
“Although I’m still quite far off retirement, I know
coaching will be my vocation right up until the day I do decide to step back. It’s something I feel so passionate about. In a previous role, I sat at a senior level, had my own coach and was physically able to see the benefi ts of coaching. I want to be able to give that opportunity to other business owners for as a long as I can.”
John’s business has gone from strength to strength, for which he gives credit to the support provided by the ActionCOACH UK support team. With events like the annual Business Excellence Forum & Awards, bringing together global thought- leaders, entrepreneurs and speakers, John learns more strategies to help him win new clients and retain existing ones. “I entered three of my clients in for awards this
