Just Cuts opens first franchisee-owned salon in UK
u Australian hairdressing franchise company Just Cuts has opened its first franchisee-run salon in the UK. New franchise owner Magda
Deaconescu held a launch party where she cut the ribbon to her new salon in Southside Wandsworth shopping centre, South West London. Magda, who plans to open five salons
in Greater London this year, was joined by the Just Cuts academy team, who flew over from Sydney for the launch and to offer moral support. The team of trained stylists had a
target of 75 Style Cuts on the opening day but managed to deliver more than 100, with the first 30 customers through the doors receiving a free cut. Just Cuts is teaming up with UK-
p Magda Deaconescu and her team
based entrepreneurs like Magda to bring its salons to the heart of communities. Magda, who is local
to the Wandsworth area, was delighted with the launch, and by how residents have taken enthusiastically to the idea of her no-appointment-necessary salon . She says: “My husband, Costi, and I
were slightly nervous the night before as we didn’t know what to expect. But as soon as the ribbon was cut at 9am, the salon was full – which was an amazing feeling! “We had some really positive feedback from customers and a few of them even returned the next day just to say hello! It’s safe to say it was a successful launch. “I was interested initially in becoming a multi-site franchise owner, having seen that regularly happen with the franchise network in the southern hemisphere. The success of the salon in Wandsworth really brought it home for me – we’re now looking at spaces in Walton-on-Thames for our second salon.”
