Calculating an Analysed Cash Book (ACB)
Payments in go on the debit (left) side; payments out go on the credit (right) side. Each transaction goes in the bank column and a category. Balancing figure = the difference between the two sides. It is entered as Balance C/D on the smaller side, dated the last day of the month. It is brought down as Balance B/D on the larger side, dated the first day of the next month.
