“It depends on how you look at it. If you look objectively at which HI-LO tracks are most widely supported by other DJs, then ‘Kronos’ and ‘Mercury’ are on top; those tracks truly crossed over in the ‘commercial’/mainstage and Trance worlds, while also doing well in the Techno space.

strengths as HI-LO that it’s not ‘purely’ Techno, but it also bridges with other genres. If I look at one of my recent releases, ‘BONZAI’ for example, it’s almost more of a Trance record than a Techno record. When I play it in a HI-LO set (or other Techno DJs play it in their sets), it always stands out and gets such a big reaction, but it doesn’t necessarily feel out of place. I love to be able to be a bridge between those different worlds musically.”

MAINSTAGE TO UNDERGROUND: A JOURNEY UNRAVELED

Oliver’s Ultra Miami Mainstage set in 2019 marked a pivotal moment. With extended set time and a darker atmosphere, he wove a narrative that bridged the gap between the main stage and the underground. This balance of familiarity and surprise has been a hallmark of his performances, igniting a transformation in the musical journeys of fans around the world.

“I broke through as a DJ when I was only 18 years old and since then performed for various crowds. At that time, my music was going ‘mainstream’ rapidly, and I already started to play on mainstages of festivals worldwide when I was 20. I always saw myself as a bridge between the mainstage and the underground, so I was always looking for this balance of playing things the crowds are familiar

with and surprising them with

sounds they don’t know or appreciate yet. A pivotal moment for me was my Ultra Miami Mainstage set in 2019. It was my first time playing there in the dark, and I had a 90-minute set time instead of the usual 60-minute mainstage set time. It allowed me to take the crowd a bit more on a journey. In the middle of my set, I ended up playing some proper Techno bangers from the likes of Clouds, Charlotte de Witte, UMEK, Wehbba, Enrico
