Measure the headsize of the dome block.

Draw a line of the same length on the pattern card. Divide the line into four equal parts, here 4 × 14.5 cm = 58 cm.

Measure the height of the block and add 2 cm so it’s easier to push the material down on the finished block using the tip.

1 m Manilla pattern card (mine is from Morplan) A few metres of 2 mm steel tie wire 2 rolls of decorating masking tape UHU glue Cling film

Here, the size is 13 + 2 = 15 cm. Mark the height from the headsize line so you get four squares of 14.5 cm wide and 15 cm high.

Cut out the pattern and leave a few centimetres’ tab on one edge so you can overlap it.

Run the back of the scissor blades over the fold lines.
