The new season opens in Paris with Première

After having its A/W version in July for a few years in a row, Première Vision Paris returned to its September schedule this year, bringing together around 20,000 professionals from across the global textile and fashion industry.

The accessories area was more compact than in previous editions, with several regular exhibitors absent this time and new Chinese brands taking their place. While the event remained smaller in scale, spread across two halls, it continued to reflect the sector’s ongoing shifts. Alongside its trend forums and material showcases, this edition also underlined the growing role

Seaweed textiles

Peelsphere is pioneering textiles derived from seaweed. The material is composed of two layers of

seaweed pressed around a nearly invisible woven fabric, resulting in a flexible, translucent surface. By extracting algae polysaccharides, the company creates a supple

fabric with a rainwear or leather-like look and feel, that is also waterproof and biodegradable under specific conditions.

The material can be produced in thicknesses ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 mm, and it accepts printing and patterned cutting for diverse design applications.

Luxury brands have already adopted the fabric for bags, while outdoor and performance labels have tested it in products such as waterproof buckets and hats. For

apparel, Peelsphere has developed a high-performance version with bio-based content of up to 81%, balanced with recycled polyester to ensure durability and cost efficiency. Although the maximum bio-content can reach 81%, the company

of cross-industry dialogue, with 22 European textile federations uniting to defend the continent’s industrial model. Together, they issued a joint declaration affirming the sector’s competitiveness and taking a stand against the excesses of ultra-fast fashion. Talks on sustainability, beauty and market evolution complemented the season’s creative directions.
