Craft session The Kidzone craft session at St John's Church, Hurst Green, held last Saturday, was a fantastic success with many young people attending and making pres ents for their fami lies and friends. The event raised an excellent £182 for the playground appeal.

Mrs Herd reported on a very successful year in which the WI went out and about to Trawden and Elswick; enjoyed paella and held a very success ful recycled fashion show. The next meeting is the Christmas meal held at the Shire- burn Arms Hotel, on December 13th, all attending are to bring a wrapped gift to the value of £3.

Paper skip The paper skip which is situated on the Memorial hall car park raises small amounts of money for St John's and the Memorial Hall. At present there is a competition run by the suppliers of the skip to find which of their skips can show the biggest percentage increase in usage between October and the end of March. The winning skip will receive £250. This skip is particularly useful to those who
