MOTOR MATTERS (PEDESTRIANS and other road
users are being placed in serious dan ger because local authorities are
neglecting their duty to cut back overgrown hedging, according to the Association of British Drivers. All over the country, vital road signs are
being obscured at junctions, roundabouts and footpath entrances where vegetation has been allowed to grow too close to the car riageway. Local councils seem to be failing miserably in their maintenance duties, and instead of spending more money on unpopu lar speed bumps and cameras, perhaps investing in some chain saws would be more appropriate.
