ON CE again there will be. a special competition for local schoolchildren, start ing at tonight's late-night shopping event. This year, the children will

be looking for stars (either silver or gold) disguised in shop window displays.

The school with the great

est number of winning totals, or the nearest total, will win a cash prize. All the proceeds from the Clitheroe shops and traders taking p a r t in the competition by hosting stars will go directly to the win ners.

Shops are being asked once

again to donate £10 to the scheme. -The Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Com merce is grateful to Clitheroe Lighting Centre, which has kindly purchased and donat ed a considerable number of stars for the event.

When the children have

completed their treasure hunt sheets, they should be returned to Clitheroe Music at 9 Moor Lane, Clitheroe, BB7 1BE. The closing date for entries is Friday, January 9th. This is to allow for the fact th a t some schools will

have closed for the Christ mas holiday prior to Decem ber 18th.

Schools entering the com

petition are asked to collate all the entries and leave them a t Clitheroe Music, Moor Lane, in a large envelope
