DAVIDSONS CHEMIST BRECHIN
Davidsons Chemist, located on the High Street in Brechin, has been honoured with the 'Commitment to Health and Wellbeing' award at the Scottish Pharmacist Awards for their outstanding contribution to the local community. Their exceptional initiatives and dedication to patient care, both in times of crisis and throughout the year, have made them an exemplary model of community pharmacy practice.
aThe team at Davidsons Chemist has consistently been at the forefront of local initiatives that benefit the community. Actively participating in local fundraisers and community events, they engage with and support local residents.
Their collaboration with the health centre on projects, particularly the Read-Write Access pilot, has granted

pharmacists access to GP notes, enhancing patient care. This pilot's success has been recognised across many health boards and earned them a nomination for a Tayside Award.
The Brechin team played a pivotal role in rolling out the project to other pharmacies and continues to support it enthusiastically.
In addition to their work with the health centre, they liaise with local social workers, drug action teams, and care homes to ensure vulnerable patients receive the necessary support.
These strong relationships shone through in October 2023, during Storm Babet, when multiple homes were flooded and hundreds more homes were evacuated due to flood risk.
