The 'Team Member of the Year' award at this year's Scottish Pharmacist Awards was bestowed upon Ross Galloway, the exemplary delivery driver for Barnton Pharmacy and Travel Clinic in Edinburgh.


Despite joining the pharmacy team just a few years ago, Ross has firmly established himself as an indispensable member, providing unparalleled support to both the pharmacy team and the community.


Ross joined Barnton Pharmacy in November 2021 without any prior experience in pharmacy or healthcare. Yet, he quickly found his place within the team, prioritising the well-being of

housebound patients. He embodies the face of Barnton Pharmacy for these patients, often serving as their only regular contact.


From delivering prescriptions to making a phone call to an ambulance, Ross is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure the safety and care of his patients. He has phoned emergency services on several occasions when he noticed something


amiss during his delivery runs. Once, he even performed CPR while awaiting the arrival of paramedics, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to patient care.


Ross's compassionate nature shines through in everything he does. Whether rearranging his delivery schedule to suit the needs of carers or delivering last-minute medication on his way home, Ross truly ‘goes the
