Autocab have formed a partnership with Capstan Communica- tions Ltd, the exclusive distribution partner of LG Nortel in the UK. LG-Nortel has over twenty years experi- ence in the telecommunications industry and is leading the way in IP based telephony for the small and medium business- es with IPECS. Commenting on this partnership for the Taxi Industry Capstan Sales Director Scott Elder commented: “LG-Nortel and Cap- stan are fully committed to working with Partners of Excel- lence such as Autocab, who com- bine customer commitment with an in-depth product knowledge and world class customer serv- ice.” IPECS is a revolution for small to medium business and provides the latest in computer and telephony integra- tion that combines IP telephony with superi- or voice and multimedia capabili-
ties. This enables the operator to control the telephone system from their PC as they can answer the phone, dial numbers or even hang up. In addition to these basic functions the operator also has more features avail- able which enables them to put the caller on hold or transfer their call all with a sim- ple push of a key on their computer key- board. But it doesn’t stop there as IPECS will bring more advanced features such as caller line identification (CLI) which displays the caller’s number before the line is answered. This feature works seamlessly with Auto- cab’s booking and dispatch software, which offers to book the last booking made by the caller,

This means an operator can work from home and book and dis- patch jobs, via wireless connection, as if they were at the office. This is ideal for home workers or for
