OFID finances operations that support decent work and economic growth
Strategic context
A strong and resilient economy provides the foundations for sustainable economic and social development.
OFID finances operations that support decent work and economic growth, and industry, innovation and infrastructure (United Nations SDG 8 and 9). The organization is particularly keen to support micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which often lack access to credit in emerging markets, but also form the backbone of those economies, providing jobs and helping to raise living standards.
By the end of 2018, OFID had committed a cumulative total of some $2,821.5m (or 12.6% of total approvals) to the banking and financial services sector.
