Here comes summer! We hope everyone is staying safe from the Arizona heat. This is your reminder to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and limit time outdoors during peak high temperatures. If you’re looking for ways to cool down, we’ve got you covered. Whether it’s at one of our two air-conditioned libraries offering a host of reading opportunities and activities all summer long, or at the Avondale Aquatic Center, where families can enjoy fun in the sun – we hope to give you a break from the heat. You can also bring the kids to cool off at the splash pads at our City parks, namely Friendship Park, Festival Fields, Alamar Park, and at The BLVD!
This edition of the RAVE Review will keep you updated on the many activities and recreation programs that Avondale has to offer. There’s something for every age group and interest! On page 44 and the inside back cover you'll find a listing of the upcoming special events in Avondale, including Avondale Fiesta, Juneteenth, and Light Up the Sky celebrating our nation’s independence. Our events are free, fun, and open to everyone. They are also a great way to meet your fellow neighbors and feel more connected to our wonderful, tight knit Avondale community.
