Memoria Entre Las Flores Goodyear Farm Cemetery
Utility Box Wraps Dysart Road
Completed in August 2024, four new utility box wraps were installed along Dysart Rd. from I-10 down to Western Ave. Concepts were created by artists Maria Madrid Reed, Paige Reesor, and Katung Aduwak, and provide vibrant and eye- catching creativity to the City's infrastructure. The concepts include tributes to Frida Kahlo, the Sonoran Desert, the community on Dysart Road, and Billy Moore Days in Avondale.
The mural Memoria Entre Las Flores was finished at the Goodyear Farms Cemetery in May 2024. Completed by the organization Catitude Arts, the mural depicts a young girl with angel wings surrounded by monarch butterflies and flowers. This mural represents the journey made by many of the migrant farm workers and honors the history and traditions that make the cemetery a sacred place for so many families in Avondale.
Inspiring Young Minds Mountain View Community Center
This vibrant mural was completed in September 2024 at the Mountain View Community Center. Created by Maria Madrid Reed, a resident of the Cashion neighborhood, the mural is a colorful depiction of several key landmarks and features of the Avondale community, and serves as a reminder to children of all ages to never give up pursuing their hopes and dreams.
Harmony or Rivers North Public Safety Facility
Completed in December 2024, this unique piece was installed at the North Public Safety Facility near the Crystal Gardens neighborhood. Created by the artist Ann Steverson, it is a 16-foot kinetic sculpture that depicts a flying crane surrounded by a ring of water and honors the importance of nature in Avondale.
