$1,000,730 Funding Source: US Department of Labor, ETA - Apprenticeship CarolinaTM Subaward Program Title: State Apprenticeship Expansion Grant (SAE) - Round Two Purpose: Supports scholarships for training 389 registered apprentices and 55 pre-apprentices in the fields of information technology, nurse assisting, EMT, sterile processing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, supervision, government administration, and manufacturing.


$95,000 Funding Source: South Carolina Research Authority - Academia Collaboration Team (SACT) Program Title: Collaborative Research Grant Purpose: Establishes a dynamic S.C. academic-industrial- government partnership including USC-Engineering, Clemson University, Greenville Tech, Midlands Tech, Nephron, and Siemens to enable Factory to Factory (F2F) networking of machines, humans, and data for industrial innovation within pharmaceutical manufacturing. Interactive remote control work cells in MTC labs will allow faculty and students to test these systems. Funding also supports internships in USC's work cell lab, professional development for MTC faculty, and a new transferable course in Smart Data/Cloud Computing for Manufacturing.
