TRAINING WITH FIRE


Shortly before the Engineering Laboratory Building was demolished, MTC partnered with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department for a training opportunity.


Firefighters were able to simulate search-and-rescue training, smoky environments, sawing ventilation holes into the roof of the building, and actually stretching out the hoses and flowing water just like they would in a real-life commercial building fire.

Demolition of the Engineering Laboratory Building makes way for creating the iconic, new gateway to the Beltline Campus through construction of the Center for Business and Information Technologies.
