It’s safe to say that The GreenWay Group is lighting the way toward energy efficiency in the Midlands, one LED light bulb at a time.
The GreenWay Group, LLC, led by President Sammie B. Taylor, is a full-service lighting company based at the Enterprise Campus at MTC. It offers clients of all sizes efficient and reliable LED lighting solutions.
Surprisingly, the Columbia native and Gamecock Alumnus wasn’t introduced to LED lighting until after he retired from the Air Force in 2010.
“Back then, I couldn’t have imagined that LED lights would be a part of my future. Once I understood the technology, I became determined and stayed the course.”
After three challenging years of working out of his home, Taylor’s perseverance led to him finding success.
“I just needed to be patient and get guidance from those willing to help me break down barriers.”

That help came from Tom Ledbetter and MTC’s Center for Entrepreneurial Success. He also found a new home for The GreenWay Group at the college’s Business Accelerator. There, he met Chuck Whipple and found new avenues upon which to grow his business.
