HONORING LEADERS WHO SET THE FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS


The Midlands Technical College Commission voted to honor three of MTC’s past presidents with the designation of President Emeritus. The Presidents Emeriti were chosen for their distinguished leadership and service to Midlands Technical College. All of MTC's former presidents are recognized on a wall of honor in the college's Harbison Theatre.

President Emeritus | Dr. James Hudgins was MTC’s third president and the longest-serving president in the college’s history. Following his work at MTC, Hudgins became the Executive Director and later the President of South Carolina’s Technical College System. He was a national pioneer of two-year college institutional effectiveness, strategic planning and marketing, and he created the Vision for Excellence that set the tone for MTC’s future growth and emphasis on student success.
