It is important to watch the second video on this worksheet and continue onto the next few pages. You can watch the first video if you want to know more about consonants.
Thai words can only end in a few consonants. In contrast, English words can end in many different consonants. Usually Thai speakers will not pronounce the final consonants in English words. First practise /t/, /d/, and /f/ (don’t say /p/ instead of /f/!) at the end of words on the first three worksheets. Then do the Pronouncing “ed” and Consonant Clusters worksheets.
Work on being more sustained. Re-record yourself reading “A Perfect Match”. Can you notice improvements? 160 /ʧ/ vs /ʃ/ Comparison 180 Creating Vowels 248 FLEECE /iː/ vowel vs KIT /ɪ/ vowel You may not make a difference between chore and shore. Understand how you create vowel sounds.

Dark L /n/ vs /l/ Comparison
Earlier you looked at how to distinguish the Light L from the /r/ sound. Now look at the Dark L. Check your lips do not move towards each other while making this sound. Check you do not replace this sound with /n/ when it appears at the end of a syllable/word. If you find this difficult practise with the /n/-/l/ worksheet.
