- Practise every day for at least 30 minutes.
o Don’t practise for longer than 1.5 hours at a time. o You could even have two 15 minute sessions – one in the morning and one in the evening. o The more you practise, the more you’ll improve.
- Put practising into your daily routine:
o Do articulation exercises while showering, or as soon as you wake up. o Practise a specific sound while making breakfast/dinner, or commuting to work.
- Schedule your practising.
o When you have a number of sounds to practise, then organise in advance which sounds you will practise each day. It may help to set a daily reminder on your phone.

/h/ /iː/ FLEECE vowel How long will it take to improve? - The amount of time it generally takes to change your accent depends on:
• How quickly your speech muscles adapt. • How often you practise. • Whether you approach the learning with a positive mindset or not.
- Like all new skills, some people are naturally good at it, and others have to work harder. Most people will notice improvements after the first few lessons and significant improvements after a few months.
