3. Write down what they say (this will take some time). It may help to underline the words they are stressing.

5. Draw arrows (or use your own method) of describing the changes in intonation. 6. Read using the da sound. 7. Read using the words. 8. You can record yourself, so that you are able to listen back and compare with the native speaker recording.
9. Read the text at the same time as the speaker.
Start noticing the pitch patterns of native speakers around you – how are their intonation patterns different to yours?
After a while you will find that speaking with English intonation is like singing a song – after enough practise, you can do it without thinking technically about it. You will have an instinct.
