Tips on Handling a Hijacking


Here are a few industry recommendations if you are first to encounter the hijacker(s):


• Do NOT overreact but treat threat with absolute respect


• Follow orders exactly • Repeat demands and reconfirm intent of hijacker(s) • Watch for opportunity to act


• Utilize any and all means to subdue the attacker(s) and neutralize the situation


• Command others for assistance


• Gain and maintain control - do not stop until situation is 100% secure!


• Be watchful of “sleepers” or others involved


Caution: The actions you take must be well thought out and surgically executed. There will most likely be no second chance!
