It has also spent more than 43,300 hours on Vault Youth Zone, spanning a site of 32,900 sq feet.

▲ Business advisory and accountancy firm Beever and Struthers, which has an office in Blackburn, has merged with Menzies LLP creating a national firm with a combined fee income of £110m. It will bring together two independent firms with deep roots in their respective markets. Members of both firms are pictured celebrating the deal. Both companies share a commitment to partner- led service, people-first values, and long-term client relationships. Details of the merger have not been disclosed.

▲ Luxury retailer Fortnum and Mason has partnered with temperature-controlled and refrigerated vehicle specialist CoolKit, to develop a new van conversion. It needed a temperature- controlled delivery vehicle capable of efficiently navigating London’s streets and buildings – where vehicle height restrictions are common – while also prioritising environmental performance. Blackburn-based CoolKit responded with a bespoke refrigerated fully electric van, developed in collaboration with FordPro.


▲ Property developer Breck has completed the purchase of a new 4,400 sq ft office in Leeds as part of its continued expansion across the North of England. The two-storey office, which is located at the Millshaw Park industrial estate to the south of the city, is the latest development in Breck’s growing presence in Yorkshire and across the North as a whole. Breck was formed in 2020 and moved to its current Lancashire headquarters at Walton Summit in 2023.

▲ Assystem has pledged to double its UK workforce following the green light for the Sizewell C nuclear power plant announced by the government. The global nuclear engineering group, which has its UK headquarters in Blackburn, has been a key partner with Sizewell C’s developer, the French state-owned energy group EDF, for more than 50 years. It has now announced plans to create 1,000 new engineering, digital and project management jobs by 2030 to support the delivery of Sizewell C.


▲ Begbies Traynor Group has announced its final results for the year ended April 30 2025, reporting its tenth successive year of growth with double digit increases in revenue and EBITDA. The financial and real estate advisory firm has reported that revenues grew by 12 per cent and stood at £153.7m, up from £136.7m in 2024. The Preston-headquartered group also had a pre-tax profit of £11.5m up from £5.8m.


▲ Müller UK and Ireland has unveiled plans to invest an extra £45m into its Skelmersdale site and create 40 jobs. The dairy company is investing into the West Lancashire milk production site to enhance its liquid milk production capacity, capability and quality, and to create a flagship facility for milk drying. Müller Skelmersdale will become one of the biggest and most flexible milk balancing facilities in the UK.

The television celebrities are entering into a creative brand partnership with the Northern Dough Company that places them at the heart of future product and content development.
