NEW CATEGORY IS REALLY A BIG DEAL
THE HOME OF
A new category in this year’s Red Rose Awards will recognise the biggest deals around Lancashire over the past 12 months.
The 16th annual awards will be held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on March 12 next year celebrating the best in the county.
The ‘Deal of the Year’ is being sponsored by Sowena Group and it recognises Lancashire businesses that have successfully completed a significant transaction – whether acquiring another company, being acquired, undergoing a MBO or transitioning to an employee ownership model (EOT).
Perran Cooke, chief executive of Sowena, said: “I’ve seen first-hand the number of incredible deals that are happening in Lancashire, from private equity-backed growth to founder-led MBOs, and strategic acquisitions that are reshaping entire sectors.
“We wanted to shine a light on the people and businesses behind those moments.
“The ‘Deal of the Year’ award will do exactly that and we’re proud to be driving the conversation around what great looks like in this space.”
Richard Slater, chairman of Lancashire Business View, said: “We are always determined to make the awards bigger, better and more relevant to our business community. This new award is part of that continual improvement process.”

Lancashire’s top tourism and hospitality businesses have been revealed by the county’s official Local Visitor Economy Partnership.
Marketing Lancashire has announced the finalists in the annual Lancashire Tourism Awards.
They will now progress through a number of stages including mystery shopping, announced visits and interviews with independent award judges.
Lancashire Business View is a media partner for the event. Vikki Harris, marketing and partnership director of Marketing Lancashire, said the finalists “showcase the best in class in Lancashire”.
She added: “The applications have undergone
a rigorous shortlisting process which is mapped against nationally set criteria, and we hope that they will be delighted to hear that they have earned a spot in the county’s most prestigious tourism and hospitality awards.
“They will now go through to the next stages of the process, with many being mystery shopped, and all of them invited to meet our esteemed panel of judges in November.
“They will consider all the evidence, reports and interviews before selecting the winners of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2026.”
She added: “Congratulations to all this year’s finalists, you’ve risen to the challenge. We wish you all the best and look forward to celebrating your achievements at the ceremony next February.”
