About us
Freedom Heat Pumps was founded to fulfil a need in the UK market for sound, knowledgeable technical support. We pride ourselves on supplying the right heat pump product for the individual project, delivered at the right time. Backed up with the right training and the right technical support.
What we’ve achieved
Heat pumps are currently at the forefront of the renewable energy conversation, and as one of the largest distributors in the UK market, we supply both air source and ground source heat pumps. For ten years we have been providing heat loss calculations, project specifications, technical support, product training and installation training and support to a loyal customer base.
The rewards
Recent surveys suggest that 80 per cent of the population supports the carbon net-zero target. As a business when thinking about being sustainable and environmentally friendly, doing as much as possible to limit the loss or waste of energy is one of the most cost-effective things to do and the best for the environment. Who doesn’t want to save money and shout about doing their bit for the environment?
About us
Go Velo offers Bikeability, adult cycle training, cycle instructor training and inclusive Special Educational Needs sessions. Our popular support package helps businesses encourage more cycling to work, by adult training, route planning, cycle storage, try-a-bike events, Dr Bike and bike maintenance sessions - all geared up to get you cycling.
What we’ve achieved
We encourage cycling and train 10,000 people per year. Cycling has a carbon footprint of about 21g of CO2
per kilometer
travelled. That’s less than walking or getting the bus and less than a tenth the emissions of driving. If cycling’s popularity in Britain increases six-fold (back to 1940s levels) and all the pedalling replaced driving, this could make a net reduction of 7.7million tons of CO2
annually. The rewards
As well as being good for the environment, there are many business benefits to encouraging your team to cycle to work. Cycling will decrease your business’ mobility costs, reduce car parking headaches, reduce employee absence and increase productivity.

About us
Lancashire Business View launched in 2005 as the magazine dedicated to reporting on commerce, industry and regeneration in the red rose county. As our readership has grown, so has our offering. We now publish daily news on our website, run a regular programme of networking events and seminars both online and in person, and we’re the team behind the Red Rose Awards, Lancashire’s biggest business celebration.
What we’ve achieved
Our mission has always been to get Lancashire businesses talking to each other, with the goal of getting them buying from each other. This year, we’re making an extra special effort to encourage organisations to improve their environmental credentials. Through features such as this showcase, our new regular report supported by NatWest and our upcoming conference, we’re hoping to inspire our audience to take action, and to provide them with the tools and insight they need to take their next step.
The rewards
Going green makes sense. It saves money, it’s good for the planet, and it feels good to be part of a historic movement: we’re all pitching in together to make a positive difference.
About us
I currently own and operate three modern Greek restaurants across the North West, with exciting plans to extend my portfolio.
What we’ve achieved We are committed to using local and seasonal produce. Eighty per cent of our dishes contain vegan products and 40 per cent of our menu is fully vegan. We ran a vegan food giveaway to get guests interested in trying it. Partnering with Ecologi, we plant a tree for every vegan main meal sold and we’re planning to attend tree planting parties with Friends of the Lakes. All our staff have reusable water bottles to eliminate single use plastic. We ensure our suppliers’ packaging is either recyclable or reduced as much as possible. We’re overhauling various procedures to make them greener, including adopting digital systems to reduce printing and changing company cars to electric vehicles.
The rewards
There is no Planet B. We must all do what we can to help tackle the biggest threat of our generation. The reward is the power to secure our future. Nurturing and encouraging my team’s natural interest through education and innovation creates a real buzz amongst the teams.
