WHY WE ALL LOVELOCAL!


BIG SHOUT OUT FOR THE COUNTY


After an enforced absence because of the pandemic lovelocalexpo returned with a bang last October.


And it was worth the two-and-a-half-year wait as business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs descended upon Impact Conferencing in Burnley for a day of networking, relationship building and brand promotion.


Following that successful comeback, Lancashire Business View is delighted to be the exclusive media partner for lovelocalexpo 2022.


It will take place on Wednesday April 27 from 9am-3pm and once again the venue is Impact Conferencing, just off Junction 10 of the M65.


lovelocalexpo is an annual exhibition of businesses from all sectors and corners of Lancashire, attracting visitors from across the North West and it is free to visit.


The event is a chance to meet new clients, suppliers and collaborators and attend expert seminars. It offers access to experts in business support, funding, grants, scaling and growth. You can also take part in the noon speed networking session.


Exhibition space is available with stand packages starting at just £215 and sponsorship deals include advertisements in the delegate brochures and begin at £375.

The countdown is on to this year’s Lancashire Business Expo, the county’s largest B2B exhibition.


Organised by Shout Expo, the big event will once again be held at Preston Guild Hall on Friday March 25, from 9am to 3pm.


Around 150 exhibitors and 2,000 delegates are expected for the event which showcases local businesses and welcomes visitors from Lancashire and beyond.


While Lancashire Business View has worked with Shout on various projects in the past, this is the first time the two organisations have collaborated in a formal capacity, with the magazine becoming the event’s official media partner.

Because of the pandemic, the 2021 expo took place in September, but for 2022 organisers were keen to schedule the event for early spring which is when it has traditionally taken place.


Shout Expo director Jordan Conlin said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with the response from exhibitors and delegates who attended so we decided to get the event back on course in early 2022.”

TOURISM’S STARS SHINE


After a gap of more than two years the Lancashire Tourism Awards made a welcome return, with resounding applause for the county’s resilient visitor economy.


Almost 400 people attended the glittering event at the new Orangeraie at Stanley House Hotel and Spa in Mellor, presented by comedian Tez Ilyas. Lancashire Business View was media partner.


In her opening speech, Marketing Lancashire chief executive Rachel McQueen said: “We have lost so much over the last two years, and I know that many in this room will have suffered personal as well as professional pain.


“But we have gained something too – the undeniable truth that the Lancastrian spirit will never be defeated, and the recognition, finally, that this great county is nothing without its tourism and hospitality businesses. “


“When you were forced to close your doors, everyone realised how much they were missing, and how big an impact on the quality of life in Lancashire that the visitor economy makes.”


The challenges of the last two years prompted


the inclusion of a new ‘resilience and innovation award’, which was presented to Inch Perfect Trials by Lancashire director of public health Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, who became a familiar face during the pandemic.


The ‘unsung hero award’, recognising the work of individuals or groups throughout the pandemic was presented to Glen Duckett of the Eagle and Child in Ramsbottom and Eat Grow Thrive.


Two surprise awards, for outstanding contribution, were also made to Tony Attard,


who stood down as chair of Marketing Lancashire after seven years, and to Maurizio and Cinzia Bocchi of La Locanda, for their outstanding contribution to Taste Lancashire.


The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) was the headline sponsor and Blackburn with Darwen Council was destination sponsor.


The evening was followed by a reception for winners and sponsors, which was held at 23 Winckley Square in Preston, which is owned by chef Paul Heathcote.
