Kate, who used to play football for Fleetwood Town Ladies, has advice for young business professionals, telling them to ‘believe in yourself and your own power’.
She now enjoys spending her spare time chasing her two-and-a-half-year-old son Lucas and pretending to be dinosaurs.
Group55 now works with celebrities and influencers on cosmetic brands.
Kate can’t reveal names but says it is “ridiculous to have their phone numbers and be in WhatsApp groups with them”.

written off – telling them ‘Don’t worry, you’ll be absolutely fine’.
“When you do science at school, it’s a Bunsen burner or dissecting a heart. But when they realise this is how you make shampoo and fake tans – and it’s made just around the corner in Lancashire – it changes everything.”
She adds: “You see someone you’ve grown up watching and they come in like they’re your best mate. It’s a reward for all the work we do.”
Kate believes winning a Sub36 award gave her the confidence to hold her own in those conversations.
She says: “You have self-belief when you speak to influencers and celebrities. From a chemistry perspective, you’re believable because you know the ins and outs.”

PUTTING YOURSELF FORWARD TO TEE UP NEW CONNECTIONS
The latest Sub36 event brought together Lancashire’s young professionals for a lively morning of networking at the Jurassic-themed mini golf attraction at Prairie Sports Village, Burnley.
Guests started the day with fresh pastries and headed out onto the course for some friendly competition mixing with dinosaurs and obstacles. Farah Cheema, marketing lead at Lancashire Business View, said: “It was an engaging way to break the ice and spark conversations for new and returning members of the Sub36 community.
“Although the Lancashire weather brought some rain, it did nothing to dampen the atmosphere. The event highlighted the strength and support of the Sub36 community and reaffirmed the importance of creating spaces where young professionals can truly connect.”

I want Theo Technologies positioned as a trusted technology partner for organisations, acting as their external tech department. In five years, I aim to grow the company into a cross-technology innovation business with global reach across cloud, private AI hosting and enterprise solutions.
Tell us something about you that people might not know. What do you do away from work? Any interesting hobbies?
I train in martial arts and calisthenics to stay sharp and grounded. Outside work I spend time with my son, get into adventure sports when I can, and chase good food wherever I travel. I like pushing myself but I also value quiet time, it keeps me focused when I am back in work mode.
What’s the value to you and your business of being part of the Sub36 network?
Sub36 gives me space to speak with other young professionals, pick up new perspectives and keep a fresh eye on things. We are all busy and rarely get time to connect casually, so the network helps me learn from others and bring that experience back into the business.
