TACKING FROM REACH TO REACH Tacking is a sailing maneuver where a boat changes direction by turning
its bow through the wind. Any time you switch the wind from one side of the sailboat to the other by sailing through the No-Sail (No-Go) Zone, you are performing a tack. You may want to tack for a wide range of reasons; other boats, your destination, better wind or water conditions, etc.
