Under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) which came into force on 1 July 2013, it is a legal requirement for manufacturers/distributors to CE mark any of their products covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) or a European Technical Assessment (ETA).

Tata Steel can assist in the CE marking of products by providing technical guidance along with the relevant performance data for the pre-finished steel according to European standards, to wall and cladding system manufacturers.

Metal roof and wall cladding

For metal roof and wall cladding the relevant hEN are:

EN14782 – self-supporting metal sheet for roofing, external cladding and internal lining

EN14783 – fully supported metal sheet and strip for roofing, external cladding and internal lining

EN14509 – self-supporting double skin metal faced insulating panels.

Structural products

For structural products such as floor and roof decking, the hEN is:

EN1090 – conformity assessment of steel and aluminium structural components.

Colorcoat® pre-finished steel

Colorcoat® pre-finished steel for metal roof and wall cladding does not fall under the Construction Products Regulation and therefore has no harmonised European Standard (hEN) against which to CE Mark.

While a harmonised standard (hEN) does not exist for spacer bar systems, these can be CE marked by following the European Approvals Document (EAD).

All our Supply Chain Partners’ products are CE marked. The certificates and Declarations of Performance can be found on their respective websites.
