Colorcoat Renew SC® is an active solar air heating system that uses solar energy to generate heated air. It reduces the amount of energy needed to heat a building, with easy control of airflow rate and temperature, helping to make occupants feel comfortable. Tests show that the technology is up to 75% efficient in converting solar radiation into useable heat and creating up to a 50% saving on annual heating bills. With 1m2
of collector area delivering approximately 250kWh/year, Colorcoat Renew SC® can
typically supply 30-40% of the daytime heating demand of suitable buildings during the heating season.
Recognised in SBEM as an allowable renewable energy technology, Colorcoat Renew SC® is a highly sustainable product and is quick to install with fast payback for small capital cost. This is because it consists of a pre-finished steel collector, manufactured from Colorcoat Prisma®, installed to a wall with a southerly facing aspect of a building using standard cladding techniques and readily available components.
