EPDs underpin environmental performance credentials
Our commitment to cut the carbon emissions associated with pre-finished steel manufacture and cladding systems is reflected in our various supply chain partners’ building envelope system Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which are published and reviewed every 5 years.
The latest EPD review showed an overall reduction of 10-18% in the environmental impact reported since our initial calculations in 2008. This provides extra peace of mind for the supply chain in specifying the most sustainable pre-finished steel products and cladding systems available.
In addition, the EPDs provide an important point of difference for designers and building owners who are increasingly opting for climate change-friendly brands and products.
Improvements are there for clients to see
An EPD from Tata Steel provides a summary of the environmental impacts of each Colorcoat® assessed system using Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® or Colorcoat Prisma® during each stage of its life.
This in-depth knowledge of the environmental impacts allows us to understand and support specifiers in developing the optimum design for sustainable building envelope solutions.
