PAID CONTENT FOR KOMANEKA RESORT AT KERAMAS BEACH

Komaneka at Keramas Beach BALI, INDONESIA

Komaneka began as a fine art gallery by a local couple in the once quiet Monkey Forest Road in Ubud. As an answer to Ubud’s rich history of traditional art, the gallery specialised in up- and-coming Indonesian modern artists. Rooms were added behind the gallery as an artists’ and collectors’ residence. Before long, they decided to expand for guests looking to explore Bali’s cultural heritage. Today, Komaneka has grown into a collection of properties — Komaneka at Keramas Beach is one of five Komaneka properties — each preserving the spirit of creativity and culture that first inspired the brand. Keramas is widely known among surfers for its

powerful reef breaks, yet it remains less crowded than Bali’s southern beaches, preserving a sense of authenticity. Nearby villages continue to practise traditional crafts, including intricate wood carving and ceremonial offerings, which are reflected in the resort’s curated cultural experiences. Guests can participate in Balinese dance lessons or learn the art of daily offerings, gaining insight into the island’s spiritual rhythms.

Accommodation is designed with privacy and

immersion in mind. Each villa features expansive living spaces and a private pool, with uninterrupted ocean or rice field views. The architecture blends contemporary comfort with traditional Balinese elements, creating an atmosphere that feels deeply connected to the landscape. Select villas offer direct beach access, allowing guests to move seamlessly between their private sanctuary and the shoreline. Dining at Timur Kitchen highlights the region’s

rich culinary heritage while incorporating international influences. Freshly sourced seafood and local produce take centre stage, with dishes inspired by traditional Indonesian flavours such as sambal, turmeric and coconut. The open-air setting enhances the experience, with uninterrupted sea views and cooling ocean breezes. Beyond relaxation, the resort offers a variety

of experiences tailored to different interests. Wellness-seekers can unwind at Segara Wangi Spa, while active travellers may explore jogging tracks and nearby cultural sites. The surrounding Gianyar region is known for its vibrant temple festivals.
