Sponsored by Restaurant ePOS Mama Fuego goes back to Square

Cloe and Lynette De La Vega own and operate Mama Fuego, a newly opened restaurant on the Greenwich Peninsula. Previously, they’d worked together on more than 60 restaurants for clients, with five of their own restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne. Mama Fuego is their second establishment to open in London. The restaurant is Australian

“Your choice of EPoS shouldn’t limit you – it should be flexible enough to serve your

He has also seen a growth in the use of tableside ordering devices, such as tablets, which creates more mobility for service staff. “Tablets streamlines workflows and enable staff to serve in areas across the business, such as lounges or lobby areas, which may tradi- tionally be underserved,” he says. challenge is getting a new team together that really understands your brief and what you’re trying to do, and to find companies to partner with that fit our aesthetic and our values, for things like our suppliers, the coffee machines and the EPoS.” Having used other point

of sale systems before, Cloe and Lynette’s concern was the user interface and aesthetic of the system – it had to be simple and easy for staff to use. Cloe had previously used Square at her street food

business in Sydney and liked the fact that it allowed her to operate multiple sites, receive payments quickly and have minimal set-up. “When we were looking

for a card processing system here, we started using the usual credit card machines and found them to be so old-fashioned and slow – they just didn’t fit with our values. I remembered loving Square and suggested we use that – and we never looked back,” she says. At Mama Fuego, Square

is partnered with Square Terminal, the newest member of Square’s hardware family for taking payments. “It’s good that we can now

have our EPoS and payments integrated,” Cloe says. “With Square Terminal the staff can take payments at the tables, they are mobile and able to do everything they need to while walking around. “It’s a really easy system to use, so training has been pretty minimal and the next-day deposits mean we have money back in rotation much quicker.”
