Throughout history, there have been many examples of genocide, the attempt to eliminate entire peoples or religious or ethnic groups. The most studied example is the Holocaust, in which Hitler and the Nazis aimed to wipe out systematically the entire European population of Jewish people. In this chapter, you will learn about this horrific period of history, and look at other examples of genocide: those of Native Americans, Armenians and the people of Cambodia.
