! Goal: To tidy my bedroom Duration: depends on the mess!

Equipment needed: ƒ Refuse sacks ƒ Vacuum cleaner/brush and scoop ƒ Natural dusting spray ƒ Cloth ƒ Storage boxes ƒ Laundry basket ƒ Energy and determination!

Steps to be taken:

1. Firstly, with the assistance of an adult, rapidly transport the equipment needed to your bedroom.

2. Secondly, open the windows for ventilation. (This will also get rid of any rotten smells!)

Look for the adverbs: energetically, rapidly,

quickly, slowly, carefully, neatly.

3. Now, carefully place all items from lockers, dressing tables, shelves, etc. on to your bed. Pick up everything from the floor and place on the bed too. Your bed should now resemble a mountain.

4. Next, energetically vacuum/sweep your room. Use a bit of elbow grease.

5. Following this, slowly spray some natural dusting spray on all furniture items and clean thoroughly with a damp cloth. Depending on the level of dust, you may experience a fit of sneezing.

6. The next step is to tackle your wardrobe/chest of drawers. Neatly fold all clean clothes into piles according to category, i.e. all T-shirts together, all jeans together. Use hangers for jumpers/dresses/coats. Throw all dirty washing into the laundry basket.

7. Remember the mountain? It’s still there! Be ruthless. Quickly dump/recycle what you do not use into refuse sacks. Using storage boxes, sort all items into relevant boxes, e.g. all toys in one, all books in another, all socks in pairs, treasures and valuables in another, etc.

8. Carefully place all storage boxes under your bed or neatly against the wall.

9. Finally, straighten and pat down the covers on your bed. Step back and admire your hard work.

Conclusion: Job done! 32 Top tip!

You can use a similar method for cleaning the remainder of the house!
