English for the 21st Century • Unit 6 91 FOCUS Grammar Future perfect and future continuous
We use the future perfect to talk about an event that occurs before a point in the future. We often use the future perfect with ‘by’ and ‘by the time’. Example By September, I’ll have graduated and started a job.
We use the future continuous to talk about events in progress at a point in the future. We often use the future continuous with a future time phrase, e.g., next month, in a year’s time. Example In 2027, I’ll be working for an IT company.
