EVERY SINGLE PICTURE WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTION, IS TAKEN FROM ONE PLACE... THE VIEW FROM THE DARTMOUTH OFFICE

From up in their lofty office in Above Town, Andy and Helen Kyle have the most amazing view. Every day something unusual occurs before their eyes (and luckily for us, their camera lens). This page has a small selection of goings-on in, around and above the River Dart. On their

website www.TheViewFromTheDartmouthOffice.com you’ll find ‘000’s of pictures from the past sixteen years - an astonishing archive of life here in wonderful Dartmouth. If you can’t remember the website name just type ‘Dartmouth view’ into Google.

12-09-2026 - 19:00:09 The last cruise ship of the year was a seventy year old stunner - Nordstjernen. The boat’s departure was extraordinary with the passengers massing on the upper decks waving union jack flags. Some were unbridled with their enthusiasm.

10-08-2026 - 12:47:42 Dramatic scenes at Darthaven as a moored boat caught fire with the potential to ignite other boats alongside. Quick acting staff from the marina and Dart Harbour kept the flames at bay whilst neighbouring craft were moved away to safety.

06-08-2026 - 20:51:10 Dart RNLI were called out to a sinking boat with a man in the water. The man was rescued. His boat would probably never float again.

28-08-2026 - 17:37:03 James Prestwood’s flyboarding display at Regatta is always impressive - the somersaults are the main crowd pleasers. But for me, it’s his porpoise manoeuvre that wins the day.

26-08-2026 - 20:52:35 I may well have achieved the impossible - made the Dartmouth Regatta Funfair look, er....interesting? My sister had a Spirograph which I wasn’t allowed to use. She never managed anything like as good as this.

24-08-2026 - 16:21:18 This is just a small part of an extraordinary effort to save the life of a swimmer who got into difficulties off the coast near Strete. Dozens of emergency workers, the NHS, RNLI volunteers, coastguard staff and coastguard volunteers, harbour staff and many, many others were involved in what sadly ended in such a tragic way.
